Alberto Iglesias – CHE – Soundtrack [2009]

che

Che (2008) is a biopic about Marxist revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Benicio del Toro as Che. The film is actually a merged version of two films by Soderbergh: The Argentine and Guerrilla. Che was screened on May 21 at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival running over four hours. Del Toro won the Best Actor Award at the festival for his portrayal of Guevara in the film. IFC Films has acquired all North American rights to Che and was released for one week on December 12, 2008 in New York City and Los Angeles in December in order to qualify for the Academy Awards.

The film will re-open on January 9, 2009 in these two cities as two separate films, titled Che Part 1: The Argentine and Che Part 2: Guerrilla. The films will then be released in 25 markets beginning January 16 and 22 and will expand further after that. The filmmaker noted as well that, “with a character this complicated, you’re going to have a very polarized reaction.” Furthermore, he was not interested in depicting Che’s life as “a bureaucrat”, stating that he was making a diptych about two military campaigns, declaring the pictures “war films”.Soderbergh said, “I’m sure some people will say, ‘That’s convenient because that’s when he was at his worst.’ Yeah, maybe — it just wasn’t interesting to me. I was interested in making a procedural about guerrilla warfare.”~wiki

I watched that movie already.. i even have the DVD of it. recommend u to watch The motorcycle diary as well, it is one of the Che movies, it is more about how che was i first inspired by the life of poor people who were working for the stingy landlord during his travel thorough out Latin American. started from his home country Argentine with one of his friend.
